Previous works of Bernd at the Humboldt University of Berlin, featuring a photoswitchable catalyst have just been published in Nature Catalysis. The diarylethene-based Bronsted acid catalyst allows both chain length (left) as well as composition (right) of formed polymers to be controlled by light of different wavelengths.
